Legends of Middle Earth… IS RELEASED
Many congratulations to Stephen, his sidekick Lars and others for finishing this project.
Legends of Middle Earth is a merge of Legends of the Third Age and Stephen’s Middle Earth modpack, complete with the Two Towers campaign, plus a few scenarios for The Return of the King and The Hobbit. In addition, you are now able to play standard games against each as the race of Men, Elves, Orc or Dwarves!
On top of the hundreds/thousands of hours put into creating the new units, buildings and levels, there is also a completely original soundtrack. Please note there are also sounds and images borrowed from the movie in order to increase the realism/novelty.
All contained in a zip archive that’s less than the size of a graphics card driver.

Update: 8th April 2011 – Problems were reported with the download file being corrupted. The above link now links to the file on LFS, which is uncorrupted.
Sorry I have downloaded and installed this course “mod”but it comes out http://oi54.tinypic.com/dxit5d.jpg I think this error is an error concerning artificial intelligence why it is that makes a random map or face of the campaign I get that error, I could pass the file to “eliminate” this error?
Hi Unji,
The campaign does not come with any AI for the standard maps. You can only play against friends. Sorry about that!

You can play via LAN
And you can use software to fake a LAN connection to play with people across the internet. I can’t remember any right now though :/

First of all I want to congratulations you for so amazing project you have done, it is great to see the mythology of Tolkien, and in specific the LOTR, in one of my favorites games of all times, but I’m having a problem when I want to play as a single player and enter to the random map, when the match begins a window game box appears telling me that there is a problem:
00:00:00 (0): XS: Error 0003: could not compile file ‘AI2\AoMEaiLoaderBalanced.xs’, and the enemy player (the computer) don´t do anything at all.
Do you know how can I fix this problem?

The error you have is due to us not having been able to make an AI for the computer. We have no actual programmers, so this was unavoidable. You should be able to play over LAN against a friend though if you’re willing to take the effort.

Do not give to play with any program that false connection that you created in the mod, which is an excellent mod, do not have the option to play Multi-Player. The programs I use to play online through a false connection are the: Game Ranger and Voobly, is there any that has come in and play through the multi-player with other people that same mod?

As for the AI thing, the error you have is due to us not having been able to make an AI for the computer. We have no actual programmers, so this was unavoidable.

I have a question/request that is no related to the legends of middle earth but to the AOM in general… exist (and in case of not) is it possible that you could create a mod or a patch that allows to the player change the camera angle during the playgame time? I mean something similar to the camera control of the sims game when you press the mouse wheel and moves it. That will be amazing and will give a completely different experiance to the single player games and campaigns (including legend of middle earth campaings).

Hello I want to congratulate and to be grateful for the whole people that they made possible this merger between my favorite saga and my favorite PC game. The only one problem, friends, was not to be able to play in random map, against the IA.
So, I hope that there is some patch or update that could correct this error
i installed it was playing fine and then since yesterday there has been problems the main one is that the new units arent fully working. i mean like aragorn,gandalf,eomer etc ridding horses come up with old odd looking textures possibly from aom and also its aoms weapons in there hands…also gondor tower guard is half invisible… whats the problem?
well gandalf comes up a jarl n aragorn a greek cavalry and palace guard is just jailbait and its the same with all the other units……
Hi, I think I found a bug in the campaign (the adventures of middle-earth) the ai is not working and not attack you.
ahh another thing, if they could. do you can play random maps please!! and if it’s possible, create some maps(rm) of middle-earth, like play in the field oh isengard in Minas Tirith.
